Field Service Engineer based in the Midlands area
Due to business expansion we are looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer based in the Midlands area to join our UK Service Department.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Service Co-ordinator and be responsible for the completion of on-site service and repair work for Vindon/Third party equipment.
The role is primarily client site based, visiting our customers across the UK and Ireland to carry out service and repair work on Vindon\third party equipment, primarily high-value, electro-mechanical special purpose controlled environment stability storage chambers. You would also be required to visit the office on a regular basis to liaise with the service Co-ordinator.
Duties & Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities are to ensure client equipment is serviced and maintained with the minimal disruption and down time. Activities include Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI), Emergency Maintenance (EM) and System Calibration ensuring equipment is compliant with the pharmaceutical industry regulations. Specific requirements are:
- Identify refrigeration, mechanical and electrical faults and carry out repairs including; pipe brazing, compressors, heat exchangers, motors, pumps, elements, solenoids, relays, PLC's, switches, sensors, seals etc.
- Fault find and repair down to component level using a range of testing equipment including meggers and flukes etc.
- Install new components to ensure that equipment is working as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- To undertake all duties in a safe, tidy and responsible manner in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
- To comply with Client site rules and to maintain a high standard of discipline at all times.
- Comply diligently with all health and safety requirements
- To work as an on-call duty engineer as part of a team rota if required.
- Provide accurate service documentation for site visits, maintain and manage van stock levels.
- Comply with all relevant company quality procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain/service own equipment
- Please note you must have a flexible approach to working and travelling as well as prepared to work away from home and stay out overnight at short notice.
Skills Required
This position requires self-motivation and initiative. Refrigeration qualifications are required with F-GAS registration mandatory. Electrical qualification and/or experience of controlled environmental chambers would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be fully trained in-house by Vindon Engineers and Technical personnel to gain specific the skills for Vindon equipment. You must have;
- Relevant qualification in refrigeration repair (minimum NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration or equivalant).
- F-GAS Registered.
- Proven multi-skilled background with Mechanical & Electrical skills are essential for this role.
- Ability to fault find and read electrical wiring diagrams.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Have the ability to manage your own workload and work with minimum supervision
- Be a self starter, with strong diagnostic skills to assess and assign work in an independent and appropriate manner.
- Possess a high degree of accuracy
- Have first class communication skills.
- Full driving licence.
