VIMS Inventory Management
Vindon’s Cryobank is a worldwide biorepository for the collection and storage of biological materials. These biospecimens comprise tissue, stem cells, bacterial cultures, blood and even environmental samples. It’s vitally important that the location of any sample is easily traceable when access to it is required. To facilitate this process, we created the Vindon Inventory Management System (VIMS).
It would be impossible to remember the exact location of every individual sample we store. Having a paper audit trail is time consuming and data can be easily mislaid. VIMS, our automated audit trail, is the perfect solution. It’s accurate, quick to use and items are readily accessible at any time.
Reliable storage
VIMS is a comprehensive management solution for cryogenic storage. It provides peace of mind to customers who entrust us with their important samples. And we can access them at the touch of a button.
As one of the UK’s leading pharmaceutical outsourcing companies, we required a system to match our customer’s expectationsStem cell samples are received and their data is uploaded to the sample control system, eliminating the need for tedious manual input. This data contains comprehensive information about the individual, so it is imperative that these details are correct. A secondary advantage of eliminating manual input is that the chance of human error in this important data entry process is removed. Once the data is entered, samples are placed in our Cryofreezer system.
Foolproof barcoding
A typical Cryofreezer comprises racks and drawers, all with unique barcode labels.
Our barcode labels have been manufactured to survive in freezing temperatures down to minus 196°C. This ensures that the data on sample barcodes does not become damaged over time and they can be scanned and read for future identification.

Preservation of artefacts and heritage materials is becoming increasingly important in today's environmentally challenged world. Whatever the subject however, from tapestries to books, paintings to stained glass, or antiques to film stock, prevention of decay and deterioration is playing an important role in the delicate art of caring for our treasures.
